Unicorns’ half day ‘Fire Legislation’ course provides a comprehensive overview of the raft of fire safety related legislative requirements for the workplace. It also clarifies the expectations of the enforcement agencies’.

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for Owners, Managers and Staff who have responsibility or involvement for fire safety and Health & Safety in the workplace

 

Course Content

  • Consequences’ The dangers of fire in the workplace

  • The history of fire safety legislation

  • Common Law and ‘a duty of care’

  • General Health & Safety legislation

  • The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 

  • The Building Regulations and Approved Document ‘B’

  • The Licensing Act 2003 / Housing Act 2004 (if of relevance to delegates)

  • Corporate Manslaughter & Corporate Homicide Act 2007 

  • The expectations of the enforcement agencies and record keeping


Assessment and Resources

There is no formal assessment for this course. Delegates are issued with comprehensive training notes, a free Fire Log Book and a guide to Fire Safety Policy and a template Fire Risk Assessment

 

Qualification 

Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
